Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014 pills

Is just ended the last edition of Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014, maybe the most important event in the italian fashion scene. With my big surprise, I have to admit that, despite my expectations, I really enjoyed this fashion week. I liked every collection, which one special on its own. A very intense and hectic week, that made me discover once again the passion I've always had for fashion (and that I had almost forgotten) and reminded me how much is important to hold on and work hard to make your purpose come true.

As I said, a true escalation of different styles, different worlds that bring up the flag of the italian style, making it unique and inimitable. And now a short review of the collection I loved the most.

Tokyo Fashion Week 2012

It's ended last October 20 one of the most interesting fashion events of the year. I'm talking about Mercedes Benz Tokyo Fashion Week 2012 during which some of the best and original talents of japanese fashion scene who presented their s/s 2013 collections.

Many styles presented so different from each other and, even if there weren't remarkable innovative peaks, I have to say that many of collection presented caught my attention. Here, the ones that I liked the most.

G.V. G.V.
Nice collection presented for s/s 2013 by G.V.G.V. An easy chic style and a retro taste for clothes realized with linear cuts e simple shapes, enlivened by floral prints, pastel colors and sweet ruffles. Perfect for daywear, it's suitable for the young fashionistas.

MATOHU
Lovely, elegant and so ladylike this collection is one of cutest ones seen during the TFW 2012. With a delicious retro taste, it proposes nice lace dresses, flared skirts matched with short bolero jackets and maxi cardigans. Everything is completed by oxford shoes and maxi accessories.

SOMATRA
This absolutely the collection that I liked the most. Light as a breath, it presents delicate dresses realized with fabrics like silk, organza, soft laces and precious jaquard matched with lovely embroyered collants and ottoman printed pants matched with soft blouses and cute jackets. The entire collection is so spring, with its floral prints and pastel colors. Chic and bon ton is perfect the modern Jacie O'.

TAE ASHIDA
Urban inspiration for the collection labeled Tae Ashida. This collection follows a progressive evolution: more aggressive with a rock allure, made by leather pants matched with classic blazers and patent pumps at the beginning, becomes more and more classy and bon ton with flared skirts and ladylike dresses. Thought for the women who love fashion, like new Carrie Bradshaws ready to face the urban jungle!

NAOSHI SAWAYANAGI
Wraped and soft shapes that caress gently the body, mini and misi lenghts, light  and dark colors  (like white, grey, green and black)  and some  printed inserts mixed together in a very classy and glamorous collection. A great work by Naoshi Sawayanagi who is confirmed as one of the best talent of japanese fashion scene.

MOTONARI ONO
This is perhaps the show that impressed me more. I like the idea of bring on catwalk clothes worn by mannequins. Talking about the collection, I really liked it. It has a very elegant and ladylike taste, delicate and sophisticated. Neutral colors, lace, nice ruffles and seductive tranparency are the hallmarks.

ALICE AUAA
This collection is the confirm of the brand's style: fantasy gothic. It's like a fashion gothic tale of dark tones. Among oversize volumes and shapes that wrap the body, it brings to life an atmosphere between dream and nightmare.

WE <3 C
Of course one of the cutest collection of this fashion week. So nice and colorful iit looks so kawaii and I think it's perfect for spring/summer season with its flared shapes and its 50's references, its pastel colors and its cute prints. I particularly like the ruffle inserts that give to it a funny and girly mood. So fresh and lively it's dedicated to the most romantic fashionistas.

YUKI TORII INTERNATIONAL
Elegant, sophisticated and feminine but also comfortable and easy chic: everything you want from a clothing collection. And that is what this collection is. I really liked it and I think this is one of the best works of Yuki Torii ever. Amazing suits, adorable tulle skirts matched with ruffle tops, capri pants and cute jackets chanel style. Fresh, delicate and colorful suitable for the youngeras well as the more mature girls, more classy and bon ton.

YUMA KOSHINO
There's something nice in this collection that makes me like it so much. It's so colorful and funny and feminine... I don't know why it seems to me the perfect mix among the styles of Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs and Jean Charles de Catelbajac. I like the mix of pastel colors and prints. I also like the combo of mini dresses and oversize jacket and that  je ne sais quoi of classy, evident in the use of fabrics and the cuts of the dresses.

Aurora Fashion Week 2012

It has just ended, last October 20, the Aurora Fashion Week Russia 2012 (October 15 - 20), one of the most interesting events in the busy schedule of international fashion weeks. Come in its sixth edition, the event hosted, from the beginning, the biggest names of fashion scene like Custo Barcelona, Thom Browne, Costume National, David Koma and, just during this fashion week, Alessandro Dell'Acqua who presented here his menswear collection. But the main goal of this event is to promote and support the young and talented emerging russian designers.

Interspresed by other interesting musical and artistic events, this year the AFWR has seen on catwalk some of the biggest name of russian fashion scene like Igor Gulyaev, Leonid Alexeev and other ones, who presented their collections for the S/S 2013. Among the several collections presented, these are, in my opinion, the best ones.

ADDY VAN KROMMENACKER
This is one of my favourite shows of AFWR. This collection is so delicate and soft, elegant and classy. The clothes, realized in soft chiffon and organza, based on pallet of neutral colors like beige and pink, caress the gently the body, giving a grace and sophisticated look.

ATELIER GALETSKY
Inspired by urban style, this collection is easy and pretty. Blazers, shirts and shorts are the highlights. Comfortable and practical, is perfect for the young women who face the urban jungle with style and confidence.

COMMES DES GARCON (JAPAN)
The collection reflects perfectly the style of the brand. Oversized shapes, the asymmetrical lenghts  and the floral print, give to it a girlish allure making it so nice to watch.

IGOR GULYAEV
This is my favourite show of the AFWR. The collection is so lovely: ladylike, delicate and sophisticated. It also is very close to my personal style. I adore the use of chiffon and silk, they wrap the body as a soft caress.

LEONID ALEXEEV
The s/s collection by Leonid Alexeev is very nice. Cocoon and little oversize shapes signed the body giving a lively touch to the complex.

PIKA
A funny and colorful collection presented for s/s 2013. Inspired by circus, it also shows off a lovely retro touch. Polka dot, striped and rhomboidal prints that give almost a "clochard" look.

PORTFOLIO FINLAND
Refined, sophisticated and classy. These three words can perfectly describe the s/s collection by Portfolio Finland. Flared skirt, bolero jackets and lovely blouses are the main pieces. Dedicated for the modern and elegant young women.

Paris Fashion Week 2012

Is ended yesterday the Paris Fashion Week 2012 that, with NYFW, LFW and MFW, has always been considered one of the most important events of international fashion. During this week, we've seen a mix of designers, styles, journalists and other people more or less tied to fashion world.

As always there have been collections that I liked more and other that I liked less but, honestly, in spite of other years, this time I have to say that I aspected something more. In many shows, despite there were beautiful collections, I didn't find that particular originality that characterizes french fashion. Anyway, among collections presented, these are the ones that I enjoyed more.

AF VANDERVORST
The s/s collection 2013 by AF Vandervorst is really sumptuos. A collection with a rock 'n roll soul enriched by suggestive baroque atmospheres that are perfectly mixed with a touch of jazz inspiration, for which are used materials like leather, brocade, wool, silk and cotton.

AKRIS
Simple lines and a clean style characterize this collectionplayed on neutral colors and more lively other ones. The shapes, sometimes stright and sometimes flared, emphasize softly the silhouette giving to the collection a graceful and elegant look.

ALBINO
The collection proposed by Albino for s/s 2013 is sober and chic with linear and clean shapes. The image that this collection gives us is of a elegant and innocent  young woman who stands out the crowd for her style, perfect in its sobriety.

ALEXIS MABILLE
In this collection the designer combines female spontaneity with a super glamour metropolitan style. The classic ginghams are proposed on pants and dresses but their are made more modern by the combination with big accessories that, beside giving an urban chic touch, so loved by fashionistas, enrich the simplest outfits.

ANDREW GN
This basic collection has a refined and sensual taste. The brand proposes us a sophisticate woman who perfectly embodies the Mademoiselle Chanel's motto "A girl should be two thing: classy and fabulous", who loves the elegance and who flaunts her charm and her confidence wearing clothes with vintage references that made her a perfect middle bewteen Marilyn's sensuality and Audrey's timeless charm.

AZZARO
It's cocktail time! This is the inspiration of the s/s collection by Azzaro. Dresses with simple lines that wrap softly the body, are realized using soft fabrics like silk, satin and organza and enriched by crystal inserts that give a glamour touch to the minimal style of the collection.

BALENCIAGA
The collection is focused on male/female contrast and looks like a riot of shapes, lenghts and volumes. Following the theme of contrast, Nicolas Ghesquiere combines different materials and styles for a sexy, elegant and surprising result.

BALMAIN
This collection represents an evolution of the brand's style, incorporating a mix of street art, 90's style, the atmospheres of Miami and Cuba and male look reinterpreted in a more modern chic way. Jackets with oversized shoulders, for example, are matched with embroidered leggins, just like flared skirts are matched with emroidered sweatshirts. Everything is completed by patent accessories and stiletto heels.

BARBARA CASASOLA
The s/s collection is refined and delicate like a breath, with flowing shapes ready to follow the moves of the body. Fundamental is the use of color: white and black are opposed to nude or solid shades. The result is a clothing with a geometric taste, softened by the types of materials used: silk, chiffon, jersey and organza give to it an almost hetereal look.

CACHAREL
This collection is a tribute to femininity. A lovely floral theme dominates on gauzy skirts, cocktail dresses made more lively by delicate ruffles that emphasize the silhouette. Elegant and chic this collection is made more pretty by thw wise use of sweet pastel colors.

CHLOE'
The union of tradition and modernity is the inspiration theme of this simple and elegant collection played on over proportions  and volumes, drawn with the compass.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
Italian style and the taste are, even this time, are confirmed as winning elements in the creation of a pret-à-porter collection that casts the eye to haute couture. Delicate in the use of fabrics and shapes, the collection show off  a touch of sporty inspiration, interpreted in a more chic way, perfect for the modern It-Girls who love a simple and sophisticated fashion.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER
Taking a first look, is evident that the inspiration of this collection is a tribute to 80's and its icons, first of all Madonna, but also David Bowie and Boy George, reinterpreted trough the personal style of the designer that is still one of the most whimsical talents in the fashion scene.

JEAN CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC
One of the few surprises that I've seen during this PFW is the s/s collection by Jean Charles De Castelbajac, famous for his pop style, a bit eccentric, certainly not trivial. Inspired by an imaginary urban jungle we can see, in the prints, themes that look like leaves and skycrapers matched with other animalier ones. The daywear reinterpret classic pieces of sportwear in a refined key, while for night  the dress code includes cocktail dresses enriched by animalier prints. Another time the designer gave prove of the grandeur of his genius and his talent.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
The collection is elegant and presents an innocent look thanks to dresses with geometric shapes, sometimes oversized, and important volumes.

OLYMPIA LE-TAN
Inspired by 50's this nice collection by Olympia Le-Tan, presents corset dresses and flared skirts matched with micro cardigans and college jackets. Everything is made more fresh and lively by the clear musical references.

NINA RICCI
This collection is a tribute to a distant, childish, impudent, dominatrix, subtly mean femininity, all the more seductive as unreachable. Peter Copping created for the next s/s season a collection with elements of elegant bondage that casts the eye to the typical style of the "femme parisienne".

ROCHAS
Sportwear inspires the s/s collection by Rochas. Linear and clean shapes are valued by the use of fabrics like taffeta, silk and chiffon. Even if  thin, the shapes are interspresed by volumes that create a funny game of counterpoints. The prints present a great bloom of abstract chrysanthemums that, in the finale of the show, explode in a beautiful crimson red, giving a dramatic look to the collection.

SAINT LAURENT
One of the most famous brands in fashion world reinvents itself changing, as first step, its name.  For next s/s season, Saint Laurent proposes one the most classic pieces of its tradition reinterpreted in a new way. The collection also shows off rock, gipsy and 70's references.

TOM FORD
The collection is the perfect union bewteen classicity and fetish style. The silhouette remains in the typical channels, while classic garments like suits are reinterpreted in a sexy way, in the total black version, matched with leather, patent and vinyl accessories.

TSUMORI CHISATO
The collection is a tribute to swiss alps reinterpreted in cartoon version with bright colors and floral patterns. Other main elements of the collection are: the hourglass (a bit draped) shapes, geometric lines and the movement obtained thank to floating fabrics like silk.

VANESSA BRUNO
In the s/s season of Vanessa Bruno the bohemien style meets the classicity with 70's references: cotton and lace dresses are ankle-lenght for a perfect watermark effect. The flared skirts are matched with decorate oversized shirts. The ruffles, instead, add a girly touch to the collection, simple and natural.

Milan Fashion Week 2012

Today ends the Milan Fashion Week 2012, one of the most important events in fashion world and, even if the collection presented were pretty nice, I have to admit only few of them really impressed me. Everything was already seen, I didn't find a lot of innovation but, in general, it has been pleasant.

Among different styles and collection presented, these are the ones that, personally, I liked the most:

ALBERTA FERRETTI
Soft and elegant, the collection gives to women who wear it a romantic and sophisticated allure. Following the concept of lightness as liet motiv of the collection the designer uses soft and delicate fabrics like organza, tulle and silk enriched by crystal and pearl inserts and lace, based on pallet of colors that go from ivory to blue, to black. "I was feeling the need to design a collection of dresses in which women could move light and floating as if there was an absence of gravity yet being strong", said Alberta Ferretta after the show". Mission accomplished!

ALVIERO MARTINI 1° CLASSE

Another time the designers find a great inspiration  into the sicilian folk traditions. Puppets, carts and ceramics insire the prints of the clothes with fun, energy and color that remind me the spectacular scenery of the folk festivals of a Sicily kissed by the sun.

BLUMARINE
For this collection Anna Molinari imagine an elven woman, who loves the simplicity and the softness of fabrics like lace and voile, the prints inspired by nature, based on pastel colors, and the elegance of black for the night, made more sensual by games of transparences on the dresses.

BYBLOS
During the show the collection undergoes an evolution: from a girlish style, made by lively and other acid colors matched each other with a fun mix and match of fabrics and prints, to a more mature and sexy spirit with deep necklines and sensual transparences.

EMILIO PUCCI
This collection, signed by Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci, is inpired by the suggestive atmospheres of Indo-China. The party-girl proposed by the brand is sensual and elegant, with a glamour and oriental allure.

FAY
This collection seems to come out from the great 60's, the years of Twiggy and the revolution of the mini skirt. So, go with the classic bicolor suits with lively colors like apple green and pink, made more frizzy by metallic fabrics of skirts and pockets. A very cute collection, so funny and colorful.

EMPORIO ARMANI
In this collection king Giorgio proposes the minimal style and the rigour typical of 90's. So go with tailleurs and shorts with male cuts matched with flat shoes, to confirm a serious and rigorous look. But the woman imagine by Armani, at night shows off all her seductive power with metallic shorts and mini skirts keeping that look masculine that creates a stylish contrast.

ETRO
Another nice collection ofr the brand that, this time, presents a fabulous collection ispired by the atmospheres of China that materialize in the prints of the clothes. Among floral prints, there also are butterlfies, parrots and flamingos that complete the language of the collection.

FENDI
This year the brand celebrate the meeting between modernity and craft, crowned by the traditional handmade, trademark of the brand Fendi. For s/s 2013 Karl Lagerfeld proposed a collection inspired by the mix and match of materials, shapes and colors, with references to 60's.

GIANFRNACO FERRE'
A minimal style, simple, clean and elegant in shapes and colors, made more sexy by the adding of animal prints and a sensual game of transparences and lenghts.

JO NO FUI
The travel is the inspiring theme of the collection. The designer Alessia Giacobino mixes customs, traditions, colors and materials of different cultures. The result is a style, perfect for daywear, glamour and chic, wereable even at night thank to sequin inserts and sensual veils.

JOHN RICHMOND
For this collection the designer reinterpret the 50's style and shapes in rock version, played on contrast of materials, like leather/silk, and the adding of feather details or geometric prints.

KRISTINA TI
Delicate, romantic and elegant in its simplicity the collection plays with floral prints, soft fabrics like chiffon, sensual transparences and soft and floating shapes. Another strenght of the collection is the pallet of neutral colors interspresed with other warm ones.

The inspiring theme of this collection is gipsy chic style, made by laces and prints, soft fabrics and maxi and mini lenghts.

MARCO DE VINCENZO
The s/s collection is called "Minerals" and is inspired by the earth and its energies. Simple and clean shapes and basic colors give to the collection a refined and elegant effect.

MILA SCHON
This collection is a true explosion of colors, feminine and lively even in the hourglass and roundish shapes. Delicate and light fabrics, like silk and organza, and pastel colors that go from white to cream, from peach to turquoise, make everything more chic.

N°21
A relaxed and practical collection, with long t-shirts and t-shirt dresses, but, at the same time, glamour and elegant thanks to silicone and lace inserts.

PAOLA FRANI
The woman proposed by Paola Frani for s/s 2013 has an exotic, colorful and feminine look, realized with fabrics like silk made more lively by prints and different combos.
