Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014 pills

Is just ended the last edition of Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014, maybe the most important event in the italian fashion scene. With my big surprise, I have to admit that, despite my expectations, I really enjoyed this fashion week. I liked every collection, which one special on its own. A very intense and hectic week, that made me discover once again the passion I've always had for fashion (and that I had almost forgotten) and reminded me how much is important to hold on and work hard to make your purpose come true.

As I said, a true escalation of different styles, different worlds that bring up the flag of the italian style, making it unique and inimitable. And now a short review of the collection I loved the most.

I love shopping around the world: Milan

Hi guys! Welcome back to I love shopping around the world. This month the destination I chose is the Mecca of fashion and style made in Italy. Obviously I'm talking about Milan, one of the coolest metropolist in the world, th perfect synthesis among past and modernity, culture, art and progress and a popular destination for the most addicted fashionistas and shopping lovers!

Shopping in Milan is almost a poetry, strolling through shops, cafes, restaurants and art sites with timeless appeal, is possible to taste pleasant atmospheres and take a break from the hectic pace of urban life. Our trip is mainly focused in the so-called "golden quadriteral", heart of milan shopping, mixed blessing of all shopping lovers (the perfect place to Rebecca Bloomwood!).

Milan Fashion Week F/W 2013-14

Is just ended the Milan Fashion Week F/W 2013-14, one of the most expected event in fashion world. It has been a week of purest fashion during which we have seen different and styles and personalities.

Unlike what usually happens, I have to say that I appreciated every collection presented, each of them was interesting and particular in its own way. But having to give a brief summary, here's, in my opinion, the best of MFW 2013.

ALBERTA FERRETTI
The collection is a tribute to a discrete and sophisticated elegance. Main element is peplum that, enriched by soft folds, enphasizes the silhouette. Very nice the embroidery that give grace to chiffon, silk and velvet dresses.

ANDREA INCONTRI
This collection looks like an old photo. The inspiration comes from english countrysides where dominate warm earth colors and plaid prints next to flora prints more similar to tapestry. Characterized by soft and flared shapes, the collection is the rapresentation of a strong femininity that is never flaunted.

DOLCE & GABBANA
One of the coolest moments in MFW has surely been the fashion show of Dolce & Gabbana. In this collection there's all the sicilian religious tradition and the decorations of the byzantine churches that are reflected on garments enriched by applications that look like mosaics pieces. Even this time Stefano and Domenico gave proof of their maestry with a collection that found the perfect balance among tailoring, luxury and craftsmanship and that also is a tribute to the excellence of italian fashion and style.

EMILIO PUCCI
The collection created by Peter Dundas is more cool and urban than ever. All the glamour and the energy of metropolitan style are perfectly united with a more slow and refined mood. The result is a great and sexy collection with a little vintage look.

JUST CAVALLI
This show was one of the most interesting during the entire MFW. The inspiration comes from the far East and dominates the whole collection: from outwear to dresses to bottoms. Protagonists of this collection are not only prints (oriental, floral and animalier, trademark of the brand),  but also iconic garments and accessories like leather jackets and backpacks.

LUISA BECCARIA
In this collection the designer proposed a fascinating and little retro style, inspired by the class and the elegance of 30's and 40's that are visible on the delicate dresses proposed for daywear and even more on the ones for nightwear that are enriched by laces and subtle gold inserts.

MOSCHINO
This is definitely one of the collection that I liked the most. The brand brought on catwalk all the glam of british tradition reinterpreted in a more modern and  irriverent way. One after the other walk the catwalk the soldiers of Buckingham Palace for the change of the guard, the schoolgirls with their typical uniforms, the party girls and also elegant ladies dressed with stylish men suits. A great collection, brit pop style.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
Games of volumes and overlaps characterize this collection by Salvatore Ferragamo. Inspired by elegant and minimal architectures, the collection presents garments with clean volumes that empahsize the silhouette and focus the attention on legs. Everything is enriched and made more glamorous by fetish accessories.

And you? What is your favourite collection?

Milan Fashion Week 2012

Today ends the Milan Fashion Week 2012, one of the most important events in fashion world and, even if the collection presented were pretty nice, I have to admit only few of them really impressed me. Everything was already seen, I didn't find a lot of innovation but, in general, it has been pleasant.

Among different styles and collection presented, these are the ones that, personally, I liked the most:

ALBERTA FERRETTI
Soft and elegant, the collection gives to women who wear it a romantic and sophisticated allure. Following the concept of lightness as liet motiv of the collection the designer uses soft and delicate fabrics like organza, tulle and silk enriched by crystal and pearl inserts and lace, based on pallet of colors that go from ivory to blue, to black. "I was feeling the need to design a collection of dresses in which women could move light and floating as if there was an absence of gravity yet being strong", said Alberta Ferretta after the show". Mission accomplished!

ALVIERO MARTINI 1° CLASSE
A nice show for the brand that has always been a guarantee of class and elegance. Shapes and volumes are well balanced between feminine silhouette  with strong details and classic must-have sweetened by ruffles and illuminated by gold touches or by floating and sophisticated feathers.

ANDREA INCONTRI
A feminine and practical collection, with linear and clean shapes sweetened by floral prints and neutral colors that, step by step, leave place to the timeless black that makes the dresses more sensual.

BLUGIRL
All the seductive strenght of animal print made more delicate by the discrete and  feminine elegance by the transparences and by laces that give a romantic touch to the collection that evolves, during the show, in amore hippy chic style, made more glamour and modern by the swarovsky and sparkle inserts.

DOLCE & GABBANA
Another time the designers find a great inspiration  into the sicilian folk traditions. Puppets, carts and ceramics insire the prints of the clothes with fun, energy and color that remind me the spectacular scenery of the folk festivals of a Sicily kissed by the sun.

BLUMARINE
For this collection Anna Molinari imagine an elven woman, who loves the simplicity and the softness of fabrics like lace and voile, the prints inspired by nature, based on pastel colors, and the elegance of black for the night, made more sensual by games of transparences on the dresses.

BYBLOS
During the show the collection undergoes an evolution: from a girlish style, made by lively and other acid colors matched each other with a fun mix and match of fabrics and prints, to a more mature and sexy spirit with deep necklines and sensual transparences.

EMILIO PUCCI
This collection, signed by Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci, is inpired by the suggestive atmospheres of Indo-China. The party-girl proposed by the brand is sensual and elegant, with a glamour and oriental allure.

FAY
This collection seems to come out from the great 60's, the years of Twiggy and the revolution of the mini skirt. So, go with the classic bicolor suits with lively colors like apple green and pink, made more frizzy by metallic fabrics of skirts and pockets. A very cute collection, so funny and colorful.

EMPORIO ARMANI
In this collection king Giorgio proposes the minimal style and the rigour typical of 90's. So go with tailleurs and shorts with male cuts matched with flat shoes, to confirm a serious and rigorous look. But the woman imagine by Armani, at night shows off all her seductive power with metallic shorts and mini skirts keeping that look masculine that creates a stylish contrast.

ETRO
Another nice collection ofr the brand that, this time, presents a fabulous collection ispired by the atmospheres of China that materialize in the prints of the clothes. Among floral prints, there also are butterlfies, parrots and flamingos that complete the language of the collection.

FENDI
This year the brand celebrate the meeting between modernity and craft, crowned by the traditional handmade, trademark of the brand Fendi. For s/s 2013 Karl Lagerfeld proposed a collection inspired by the mix and match of materials, shapes and colors, with references to 60's.

FRANCESCO SCOGNAMIGLIO
The woman proposed by the brand  is romantic and refined, almost ethereal, wrapped by the softness of fabrics like lace, linen and silk and by games of volumes and decorations. The soft and clean shapes emphasize softly the silhouette and give an grace and elegance.

GIANFRNACO FERRE'
A minimal style, simple, clean and elegant in shapes and colors, made more sexy by the adding of animal prints and a sensual game of transparences and lenghts.

JO NO FUI
The travel is the inspiring theme of the collection. The designer Alessia Giacobino mixes customs, traditions, colors and materials of different cultures. The result is a style, perfect for daywear, glamour and chic, wereable even at night thank to sequin inserts and sensual veils.

JOHN RICHMOND
For this collection the designer reinterpret the 50's style and shapes in rock version, played on contrast of materials, like leather/silk, and the adding of feather details or geometric prints.

KRISTINA TI
Delicate, romantic and elegant in its simplicity the collection plays with floral prints, soft fabrics like chiffon, sensual transparences and soft and floating shapes. Another strenght of the collection is the pallet of neutral colors interspresed with other warm ones.

LUISA BECCARIA
The inspiring theme of this collection is gipsy chic style, made by laces and prints, soft fabrics and maxi and mini lenghts.

MARCO DE VINCENZO
The s/s collection is called "Minerals" and is inspired by the earth and its energies. Simple and clean shapes and basic colors give to the collection a refined and elegant effect.

MILA SCHON
This collection is a true explosion of colors, feminine and lively even in the hourglass and roundish shapes. Delicate and light fabrics, like silk and organza, and pastel colors that go from white to cream, from peach to turquoise, make everything more chic.

N°21
A relaxed and practical collection, with long t-shirts and t-shirt dresses, but, at the same time, glamour and elegant thanks to silicone and lace inserts.

PAOLA FRANI
The woman proposed by Paola Frani for s/s 2013 has an exotic, colorful and feminine look, realized with fabrics like silk made more lively by prints and different combos.

PHILIPP PLEIN
Pattern power: is the key concept of this femininine and sexy collection, made more seductive by the leather matched with lace and mini lenghts.

PRADA
A romantic collection inspired by the heart's contraddictions with a dark spirit, like a modern Madama Butterfly who chooses oriental shapes like kimono sleeves and origami cuts.

ROBERTO CAVALLI
Laces and prints are the main elements of this collection, delicate and sexy at the same time. Leather, necklines and sparkle effects are other distinctive characteristics.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
It's a basic but glamorous collection, simple and elegant, made sexy by the wise use of metallic materials and leather.

VERSACE

Milano Fashion Week 2012

It’s also ended the Milan fashion week, and as happened for London and New York, I have to admit that the collections presented ht me pleasantly. My favourites are:

PAOLA FRANI
The F/W collection by Paola Frani brings on catwalk a woman with a dual personality. If, in one side, she’s serious and strict on her masculine clothes, in the other is more frivolous and vain and she doesn’t give up the sparkle of sequins and delicacy of lace. A feminine and refined collection, made even more beautiful by mood and atmospheres typical of 20′s.

PRADA
In this collection, Miuccia Prada took over all the heads of the male wardrobe, giving them a different mood, less androgynous and more feminine, inspired by military. The sleeveless coats, open under the breast, to wear rigorously over trousers, taking the place of evening dresses; the tailleurs are embellished with plastic embroidery on shoulders and chest . The silhouette is emphasized by the innovative shape of the pants: slim, high waist and slightly flared at the bottom.

VERSACE
Back to basic for Donatella Versace who for this season F/W celebrates her brother Gianni and his collection of 1997, recovering the leit motiv: byzantine crosses that embellish bustier dress, rigorously leather. The collection is completed by sequined and metallic evening dress.

MARCO DE VINCENZO
A sought, on the architectures od dresses, and simply elegant collection, tought for a woman who makes simple elgance her trump card. Soft and defined forms are a tribute to italian tailoring tradition.

LUISA BECCARIA
A delicate and sophisticated collection that celebrates the essence of woman and her femininity. A triumph of chiffon, laces and embroidery that embellish dresses and skirts with pastel and neutral colors. A hyn to simplicity, refinement and elegance.

ALBERTA FERRETTI
Dark sensuality: this is the key word of F/W collection by Alberta Ferretti. Chiffon dresses, embellished by feathers and sequins, that play with semi-transparent effect, feminine and sensual. A security on her seductive power expressed also on male suit with a graphic line.

BLUGIRL
The collection is a celebration of Blugirl’s girl: a lolita with a fresh, playful but also romantic and elegant style. The first part of the show brings on catwalk the school girl: stripes and roar prints are principal themes; The second part, instead, shows  pastel tones that paint furs, coats, skirts and accessories; the third part brings to stage a candid and total white winter; the last part, instead, is dedicated to cocktail time and shows endless conjugations of classic black dress.

JOHN RICHMOND
This collection celebrated an aggressive but elegant woman, with a little rock allure. Victorian, floral and dark prints are masterly mixed as soft laces, velvet and silk are mixed with leather of dresses, for a confident woman who is conscious of her seductive power.

JIL SANDER
A fashion show, tribute to femininity and to masters of international couturière art. A very romantic ’50′s mood reinterpreted in a modern way: pastel colors, wrapping coats and bustier dresses with inserts and drapings to make geometric figures, give an allure of refined elegance.

EMPORIO ARMANI
A grow up enfant-terrible presented by Giorgio Armani for this season F/W. A funny and lively woman who has fun with ruches and volants. The principal pieces of the collection are: bermuda trousers, taffeta or sequined tops and micro dresses, berets, bags a flat shoes for a perfect french style.

A collection Marni’s style: colored, fresh and graphic. The volumes and the silhouette are defined, thanks to dresses viewed as architectures.
