Fashion trends 2012: Navy style

Imagine a nice sunny day, the blue of the sea, the wonderful scenary of Cote d'Azur and a boat moored at the pier. Be prepared, then, to get on board and be captived by navy style, one of the must for this s/s season and a true evergreen, suitable for all.

Cote d'Azur
Navy style

Born during the Twenties in the French Riviera and brought to the fore by Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel, big fan of marieniere style, since then it has been proposed more and more times by fashion brands over the years. Today, it back into fashion for a casual elegance to wear in every occasion: the day, at work and for a walk with friends, the night, mixed with more glamorous garments and accessories.

The rules of this style, simple but elegant, comfortable but always chic, are very specific and they relate to the colors. The pallet turns around four principal colors: white, black, blue, red and some variants as grey and light blue; being a typical sailor clothing, essential and distinctive elements are, with no doubt, the stripes, proposed horizontally, in every dimension; another important aspect concerns borders and prints that reproduce items linked to the sea as starfish, anchors, knots, buoys etc...

Even this year, fashion brands like Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Kors, Alice+Olivia and Oscar de la Renta make us dream, bringing on catwalks a piece of French Riviera, with a style made by jackets, vests, striped tops, Capri pants and moccasins, on white and blue tones. A summer and dynamic look, that is perfectly suited to trips and to classic metropolitan elegance, for a basic but high-class style.

I love this style able, as few, to be elegant and refined in its simplicity.

My favourite navy outfit is composed by: white and blue striped top, blue pants, white flats and red bag. Just like that...

My personal advices? Wear a total navy look just for day. A night, mix it whit some sequined insert replacing the moccasins with a pair of heels.

For completing the look, you can opt for a navy nail art
