Fashion trends 2012: Pointillism. Art or Fashion?

One of trends for summer 2012 are prints: floral, ethnic, geometric, comics… What struck me most is the one inspired by pointillism.

From paintings to fabrics, from fashion creations to catwalks, this print recreates, as happens on paints of Seurat and Signac, an amazing trompe l’oeil optical effect, created through the decomposition of colors in small dots next to each other, that blend to our eyes .

Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte, G. Seurat

Brands like Penny Black, of Max Mara fashion group, MSMG and fashion designer Massimo Rebecchi, presented some garments of 2012 s/s collection using pattern on basic and easy-chic dresses, with a sixties mood, easily wearable.

The used colors are so spring and they’re perfect to mix with garments with floral or geometric prints.
