Hi, guys! Is ended just yesterday one of the biggest event of fashion system that takes the bench for the entire month. Of course, I'm talking about the New York Fashion Week that every year summons designer, buyers, editors and fashion bloggers from every part of the globe.
Many proposals, as always, but few changes from the previous year that that didn't upset me. But I can't claim the moon, right? So, that's, in my opinion, the bets of NFW S/S 2014.
3.1 PHILLIP LIM
The collection reflected the themes dear to designer: simple and clean shapes and sportwear elements, perfect for his modern urban style. Prints of marbled minerals, volcanic emankments and colors of geological inspiration are the key elements of a contemporary and elegant collection.
An elegant, romantic and ladylike collection with a sweet retro mood and a timeless sophistication, where daywear leaves gradually space to evening dresses. Starting from navy blue to red, passing by grey and powder pink, the collection is a true tribute to femininity and elegance.
In a mix of flowers, geometric cout-out, apstel and bright colors, Bibhu Mohapatra brings on catwalk her s/s collection: bon ton, light and ladylike where delicate blouses, floral prints and pleated dresses are the masterpieces.
Inspiration latina for this collection signed by Christian Siriano in which floral prints and bright colors like yellow and orange are a true energy explosion. The personal touch of the designer is evident in the elegant and modern evening dresses, enriched by organza floral inserts and sequined outwear.
Inspired by the novel Memoires d'une jeune fille rangée by Simone De Bauvoir, the designer Giovanna Randall brings on catwalk her "dutiful girl" with a bon ton collection made of romatic dresses enriched by collars and embroidery, laces and floral prints.
A minimal and romantic style wink at a mood sometimes 70's, other times 40's, in a "classic" collection that doesn't dislike some touches of sportwear to make everything easy and light without, necessarily, give up to elegance and femininity.
Maybe the only breath of fresh air during this entire fashion week is the show of Nicole Miller who, light years away from her usual classic style, in a mix of floral prints and geometric decorations, bring on catwalk an easy chic collection: modern, practical, fresh but also elegant and ladylike.
The french riviera arrives on new yorker catwalks through the s/s collection signed by Tory Burch: fresh, chic and young with a 60's touch that makes it exquisitely ladylike.
