Paris Fashion Week 2012

It’s ended today the Paris Fashion Week 2012-13 and even if, judging from first fashion shows, I was a little disappointed, the last days made me change my mind. Taking a look to different collections, these are, in my opinion, the best ones.

TSUMORI CHISATO
What better way to deal with the cold winter days than with a little 'color? That’s what Tsumori Chisato had to thought. In this collection he confirms the playful style that characterizes him. Among the inspirational themes, motocross’s world and ski slopes that appear on prints that enrich top and shirt-dresses. Splashes of paint, overlays of fabrics, pastel colors and crystals are  the main pieces of this girly and bold collection.

ROCHAS
A sophisticate and elegant collection that recalls the works of Swedish artist Wilhelm Kage, shown on fabrics with amazing prints. A sober and refined style that represent the perfect union between tradition and modernity whit a dash of eccentricity that is not so bad.

NINA RICCI
A romantic and nostalgic collection that Peter Copping propose for F/W 2012. Semi-transparent dresses, lingerie laces, soft tweed coats with lurex insert for a feminine woman, sometimes coquette and nonchalant.

MUGLER
For the next F/W Nicola Formichetti brings on catwalk warrior women dressed like samurai. The world of martial arts inspires dresses with irregular and asymmetric lengths, with carved and deliberately exaggerated shapes. A splendid union between eastern tradition and contemporary vision.

MANISH ARORA
A great collection that the brand proposes for F/W 2012, that takes inspiration from city streets.  On dresses are visible snapshots of wall, dominated by creepers. Fluorescent colors and floral prints embellish jackets, pants and dresses with cocoon shapes and trapezius skirt. An urban-chic style, really impressive!

LIMI FEU
A romantc and elegant collection that Limi Feu proposes for the next F/W. Inspired by 50’s feminism, the collection is composed by comfortable but feminine clothes, that emphasize and enhance the shapes and the sensuality of a practical and refined woman.

LANVIN
A colored and lively collection to celebrate 10 years of creative direction of Alber Elbaz. The classic dresses, brand’s  trademark , enriched with jais insert and multicolor prints,  come to life thanks to big ruches that, from the waist, climb up to the neck.

CHRISTIAN DIOR
This collection takes up the thread of S/S collection. A sober elegance expressed on the reinterpretation of most classic clothes of the brand. Pencil skirt, slim pants and ballerina dresses walk on catwalk with grace and sophistication.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
Volume: this is the key word of line F/W 2012. A studied collection with weighted shapes and volumes, exaggerate maybe, that follow a specific project.

GIVENCHY
A collection that reflects  the typical style of Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy. A collection played on mix among masculine and feminine, dark and more vivid tones, inspired to equestrian clothing, with a defined silhouette  that accentuates the waist and carves the shoulders.

JOHN GALLIANO
John Galliano propose a line inspired to equestrian world. A collection dedicated to a woman that is not afraid to show her erotic side and her sensuality. Dark tones, materials as leather, silk and feathers and oversize volumes , are the masterpieces of the collection.

ALEXANDER McQUEEN
A very suggestive collection that Sarah Barton proposes for the next F/W. Sea anemones, mystical shells and sea’s surface rippled by the wind: these are the key images.
Sculpture dresses with exaggerated volumes and a tridimensional effect with a pallet of colors that goes from ivory to black, passing through magenta and red. With this fashion show, Barton gives a unique and emotional show, as only the great Alexander could do.

ALEXIS MABILLE
A sought collection that celebrates the Parisian mood, more than a true trend of season. A tribute to typical spirit of french women: elegant and, sometimes, frivolous and flirty. This is witnessed by the shapes of dresses, sometimes curled and voluminous, and by prints.
