Hi guys! Recently a dear friend of mine, who is about to leave for a romantic getaway, asked me some advice to combine the romanticism of the situation with a bit of healtly shopping, which never hurts. So I though to share these special advices with all you guys. So, are you ready to pack your things? This time we'll fly to Los Angeles, one of the biggest and coolest cities of California and of the United States, in general.

Hi, guys! How are you? I missed you so much! After a very long break (I've spent two months traveling with my bffs), I'm back again! I don't know, it's a little weird to back home again... everything looks so small! Anyway, now that I'm home, I'm ready to take care of my blog, my "little baby" as I always say. 

It's sad that summer is almost over: I'm going to miss the sun, the beach, the laughs and all the new friends I've met during the past few moths, but I'm also so excited to start a new year and see what future holds for me. Hi guys! Welcome back to I love shopping around the world. This month the destination I chose is the Mecca of fashion and style made in Italy. Obviously I'm talking about Milan, one of the coolest metropolist in the world, th perfect synthesis among past and modernity, culture, art and progress and a popular destination for the most addicted fashionistas and shopping lovers!

Shopping in Milan is almost a poetry, strolling through shops, cafes, restaurants and art sites with timeless appeal, is possible to taste pleasant atmospheres and take a break from the hectic pace of urban life. Our trip is mainly focused in the so-called "golden quadriteral", heart of milan shopping, mixed blessing of all shopping lovers (the perfect place to Rebecca Bloomwood!).

Fashion trends 2013: Postcard

People doesn't nothing but talk about their plain for holidays? Maybe in some far and exotic places? Well, send them a postcard! Yes, you've got it. One of the coolest and most original trend proposed for S/S 2013 is, in fact, the postcard style. Clothes and accessories where stand out landscapes and suggestive views that, just like a postcard, tell everyone the beauties of many countries.

And that's how, from the coolest fashion shows of the whole world brands like Mary Katrantzou, Dolce & Gabbana and Jean Charles de Castelbajac brings on catwalk the magic of wonderful places to show off with elegance and ease.

I love shopping around the world: Munich

For the section I love shopping around the world of this month I will talk to you about Munich, one of the most fascinating, dinamic and culturally rich of Germany. Famous for the Oktoberfest, the festival that every year, to the sound of music and beer, draws millions of tourists from all around the world, it also is a true paradise for all shopping lovers!

Our trip starts from MaximilianstraBe, the bavarian upscale neighborhood where you will find the best of the international fashion: Chanel, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Valentino, just to quote some. Among the main stores near there don't miss Kaufhof (KaufingerstraBe, 1-5) where you will find jewels, clothes, accessories, fragrances... in a nutshell if you're looking for something particular, Kaufhof is the palece for you!

Fashion icon of the month: Leandra Medine

A famous italian idiom says that "women dress themselves for women and get undressed for men". Well, this could perfectly be the guiding principle of Leandra Medine, the new protagonist of the section Fashion icon of the month.

By her own admission, she defines herself as a man repeller, a woman who wearing her clothes looks repellent to a man. This is the concept from which Leandra, young newyorker student of journalism, starts when, in 2010, she decides to create her own fashion blog, Manrepeller.com, in which she vents her hilarious reflections about how often fashion confuses, surpises and, sometimes, maybe pushes away men from women. Wearing garments like harem pants, boyfriend jeans and flash jewelry she shows off how they might rise to the role of "chic contraceptives"! The philosphy behind manrepeller.com is to dressing to please yourself because, you know what they say, a true fashonista would never, ever, change the way she dresses just to entice the less sartorially evolved desire of a man...

Fashion trends 2013: Floral style

In one of the most hilarious scenes of the movie The devil wears Prada, the great Meryl Streep, in the role of the merciless editor of Runway Magazine Miranda Priestly, comments season trends in this way: <<Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking!>>. But, despite what Miranda says, floral style is everything but trivial and confirms itself, once again, as true evergreen of season, present in its every declination on clothes and accessories.

Enough with daisies and delicate little flowers, bon ton style. This season, flowers are revisited in a more modern way: grafic, stylized, abstract. In short, is back a trend that is still capable to amaze, although is not exactly a news... and, please, Miranda will forgive us! Seem light years away the times the s/s 2012 collections by Louis Vuitton, Blumarine, Dolce & Gabbana and Blugirl where, like old paintings, elegant floral prints stand out gently on clothes.

Chanel Cruise Collection 2013/14

Has an almost exotic aftertaste the last Cruise Collection 2013/14 signed by Chanel. Next may 9th, in fact, in the suggestive and fascinating location of Loewen Cluster, in Singapore, Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Maison Chanel, will present to his most fashionista audience his latest work. And, for the occasion, kaiser Karl realized a short movie in black and white called Once upon a time... that will entratein the guests before the show. Setted in Deauville in 1913, it puts on scene the life of a young Gabrielle, before she became Coco Chanel; it tells the character before the myth.

Grazia I love you, but don't break me down...

Salve a tutti, io sono Ladyfairy e questa è la storia di Chiara.

C'era una volta una bambina di nome Chiara che amava perdersi e curiosare nell'armadio della nonna e a sbirciare tra i suoi gioielli. Mentre un delicato profumo di gelsomino si spandeva nella stanza, oro, perle e cammei catturavano la sua attenzione. Aprendo quell'armadio, amava sentire la morbidezza dei tessuti tra le dita, sognando un mondo fantastico di lussuosi abiti, principesse ed eleganti feste da ballo. Di tanto in tanto, Chiara, in visita a casa della nonna, si divertiva insieme a lei e alla mamma a leggere le pagine di Proust, immaginando di gustare il dolce sapore delle madeleine inzuppate nel té, e a giocare a fare la modella indossando soffici foulard di seta e lunghi fili di perle. 

Se con la mamma si divertiva sperimentando con ago e filo, crescendo a contatto con la nonna, la piccola Chiara affinava sempre di più il suo amore per la moda. Era quasi una festa ogni volta che la nonna andava a trovarla. Portava sempre con se una busta che la piccola scartava come fosse un pacco di Natale. Tolto l'involucro di carta colorata, poteva stringere tra le mani la rivista: era lei, Grazia, quella che tante volte aveva visto a casa della nonna, sul tavolo del soggiorno accanto alla bajour al divano color miele. Sfogliando quelle pagine, assorbendo quelle parole, quelle immagini e quegli stili che nel tempo si sono susseguiti, Chiara è cresciuta. Oggi è grande, Chiara. Vuole fare la giornalista di moda. Ispirandosi ancora all'impronta e allo stile di Grazia, che tanto ha segnato la sua infanzia, prendendo ad esempio le rubriche dedicate alle news e alle it-girls più cool, e seguendo le orme della mamma e soprattutto della nonna, ha creato un blog, Ladyfairy's closet, nel quale, con leggerezza e un pizzico di ironia, scrive di moda a 360°, passando per lo shopping in giro per il mondo, presentando le icone di stile più in voga, artisti emergenti, le sue piccole creazioni e gli innumerevoli eventi del fashion system.

Conosco Chiara da tutta la sua vita. Come suo alter ego, vivo con e in lei. L'ho vista cadere e rialzarsi, correre, fermarsi e correre di nuovo per raggiungere il suo obiettivo. Nei momenti più duri, esco dal mio armadio per spronarla a non arrendersi mai e a sfruttare al massimo tutte le opportunità che le si presentano per arrivare alla meta. Pur non considerandosi una fashion blogger nell'accezione più comune del termine, io so quanto la moda significhe per lei: è come una giostra piena di luci e colori e Grazia è quell'incantevole cavallo bianco, dalla bardatura scintillante, sul quale non vede l'ora di salire.

Spero, con questa piccola storia, di essere riuscita a farvi conoscere Chiara e che questo possa aiutarla ad essere scelta e realizzare, così, il sogno che conserva da tutta una vita.

Hi, I'm Ladyfairy and this is the story about a girl named Chiara.

Once upon a time a little girl named Chiara. She loved getting lost and snoop in her grandma's closet and browse through her jewels. While a delicate scent of jasminexpanded in the room, gold, pearls and cameos caught her attention. Opening that closet she loved to feel in her hands the softness of the fabrics, dreaming of a fairt world, made of luxurious dresses, princesses and elegant dances. Occasionally, Chiara enjoyed to read with her mum and her grandma the pages of Proust, imaging to savor the sweet flavor of the madeleines, and playing to be a model wearing soft silk foulards and long strings of pearls.

If with her mum she had fun experimenting with needle and thread, growing up with her grandma the little Chiara honing, more and more, her love for fashion. It was almost a party when granny came to visit her. She always brought with her a parcel that Chiara unwrapped like it was a Christmas present. Removed the colored paper casing she could holding in her hand the magazine: it was it, Grazia, the magazine she had seen so many time in her grandmother's home on the dining room table, next to the lamp and the brown couch. Flipping through those pages, abosrbing those words, those pictures and those styles proposed during all these years, Chiara grown up. Today she's an adult and wants to be a fashion journalist. Still inspired by the spirit and the philosophy of Grazia, that marked her childwood so much, taking example by its columns dedicated to fashion news and the coolest it-girls of the moment and following the steps of her mum and, in particular, her grandmother, she created a blog, Ladyfairy's closet, in which, with lightness and a hint of irony, she writes about fashion at 360 degrees, passing through shopping around the world, the coolest fashion icons, new artists, her little creations and the several events in fashion system. 

I know Chiara from her whole life. As her alter ego, I live with and inside her. I've seen her fall and rise, run, sto and run again to acheive her purpose. In the hardest moments, I come out from my wonder closet to encourage her to never give up and exploit all the opportunities to reach her goal. Even if she doesn't consider herself a fashion blogger in the most common meaning of the term, I know how much fashion means to her: it's like a carousel full of lights and colors and Grazia is the charming white horse with the bright saddle on which she can't wait to get on.

I hope with this little story to be able to make you know Chiara and that this can help her to be chosen and realize, at the end, the dream she keeps by her whole life.

My interview for e-Saldi

In days of sales, you know, the way of shopping are endless and, thanks to the help of internet, is always more easy and comfy! Then, exsist some web sites made specifically for us shopping addicted... one of these sites is e-Saldi, always at click, which I've talked about here.

What be a fashion blogger does mean to you?

Ahahah! The idea that someone might consider me a fashion blogger makes me laugh! Maybe I had! I consider my blog as bloc-notes dedicated to fashion.

Talking about me, I can dare to say that I have fashion in my DNA. My grandma was what today we might call fashion addcited (I still keep jealously some pieces of her collection of bags and shoes) and my mother is an almost fashion designer. So I grew up with needle and thread and since I was a child I was enchanted watching my mother sew amazing fabrics with laces and embroidery, learning from her the art of the creation. Growing up my love for fashion has been refined and so has been my love for writing- From there, the idea to create a blog and put on it my opinions and my creations. I don't consider myself a fashion blogger in the usual mean of term, and I think that those who are fashion bloggers (or want to be) should try to be more "democratic" and be a bridge between the fashion system and those who benefit, trying to be always objective and original. However, there aren't just great outfits and personal pictures.

What is the hardest or the most difficult part of your job?

trying to be always original and never repetitive, and always looking for new and interesting things and talented emerging artists. I've created in my blog an heading dedicated to the relationship between fashion and art. Another difficulty is to menage thousands of ideas that I have in my head and that often I have to them away because of lack of technical support. Anyway, I don't mind doing it, because I love what I do and I try to make visible this passion in my posts.

What the biggest satisfaction?

The biggest satisfaction... well, definitely when people interact with me and know to be helpful, that what I write affects someone, even minimally. Another satisfaction is when my followers write me back, complementing me, saying that they appreciate my opinions and that they followed my suggestions... and with no doubt, to have made know to my followers, amazing illustrators, their works and their dreams...

Could you think, in the future, to be fashion blogger by profession?

I'd love to, but the career of fashion bloggers by profession is very elitist, there's much competition, often is about people who have a background of studies and years of experience in this field. In this kind of work are very important your knowledge, the talent and the ability to sell your image in a successful way. So, I understand that it's very hard. But I don't hide that it would be a dream to me, who love fashion in its every shades, to work in this field and, right now, I'm working to make it happen so... I keep my fingers crossed!

What do you care the most in your blog?

There's not a part that I care most. I consider my blog as a my "creature", so I take care of it at 360 degrees, from the choice of posts to graphics, from the selection of the pictures to the final layout, to the constant interaction with my followers. Many people don't even imagine how many work there's behind every single post. My being fussy leads me to take care of every little detail.

What catches your attention in everyday life? (in terms of fashion-lifestyle)

I'm an eclectic person,  so I'd say everything! I do a constant "contaminatio" using contemporary art, jazz music, lit street at night, so suggestive and fascinating, people on the street, the biggest fashion icons like Audrey and Marilyn, that I try to reinterpret in always new ways and, above all, the writers of the past. I have a huge passion for Jane Austen and the characters of her novels, but not only... I try to imagine authoritarian and disenchanted women struggling with the modern fashion system. A big challenge, but also a great mix! I have a special attraction for buttons, they can tell the story of a dress. But what catches my attention the most is the general care of details and see how people interpret fashion by their own, giving a concrete idea of what fashion really is.

What would you suggest to those who want to become fashion blogger but don't know where to start?

I started embracing the quote of O. Wilde "One should either a work of art, or wear a work of art", trying to interpret it fully. Said this, I suggest to do it if you really have a passion for fashion and not because is something that everybody does. I'd also suggest to always keep your eyes open and saty tuned, to try to always be original, to do not overdo and to don't ever take yourself too seriously.
