The little black jacket by Chanel

They were the mythical 50’s when Madame Coco created one of must famous garment of Chanel  brand: I’m talking about the Petite veste noir, the mythical jacket, the model takes its name from its creator, that became immediately a true cult on female wardrobe.

Today as then, the Chanel jacket is still a must not only for all fashionistas. A garment that through the ages, able to influence designers and ordinary mortals over time.  Versatile and extremely feminine, is able to make your outfit irresistibly elegant; at same way it matches impeccably even with a more basic outfit. In my opinion, it’s a must have that everyone should keep in their closet.  

 What can I say? An evergreen, always actual and unexpected, that since over fifty years enrich our wardrobe. E to celebrate this glorious finish line, Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld (chief of creative direction of ChanelAlpha since 1983), in collaboration with Carine Roitfeld, proposes an exhibition of photographs, collected in a book, named “THE LITTLE BLACK JACKET: Chanel’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld”, where he shows the iconic garment in new and surprising versions, worn by exceptional models as Vanessa Paradis, Sarah Jessica Parker and Alice Dellal, who give a subjective and very personal interpretation, demonstrating the success of the petite veste, symbol and common thread between tradition and contemporaneity.

The launch of the book and the exhibition took place in Tokyo, at the opening of the new Chanel store in Omotesando, historical japanese district of luxury. At the party, held in Minato Ku, intervened many guests as: Carine Roitfeld, Sarah J. Parker, Alice Dellal, actresses Vanessa Paradis, Clemence Poésy, Astrid Bergés-Frisbey and models Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Cara Delevigne, Arizona Muse and Edie Campbell. Music guest star, the american rapper Azealia Banks.
