Art and expression: Lena Ker
Even this month, comes back one of my headings that I like the most: Art and Expressions. I love art and all its expressions, linked or not to fashion world. And, as my habit, taking a look to Internet, I've found the works of an amazing illustrator and I felt in love with them! Her name is Lena Ker, she comes from Russia, she's 24 and is absolutely great! Illustrator for passion, she's studying at University at Historical Faculty, but she plans to starting to study art, after her graduation.
It was nice to "interview" her: she has been immediately enthusiastic and available and I want to thank her for giving me the chance to write this post about her. Even if she prefers to not buid big plans, she tries to maximize the opportunities that present to her. Right now, in fact, she's focusing to learning new drawing techniques and she's working on some projects for an online magazine and on a series of prints for t-shirt. When I asked her where her inspiration comes from, she said: "My main inspiration is beauty: beautiful people, beautiful photos and images. Of course there is fasion, but also ballet and retro. Illustrators such as Bernard Blossac, Kenneth Paul Block, Robert McGinnis and Antonio Lopez. I adore all of them". For those who have never heard about them, they're all amazing illustrators to discover... And with models like these, it's not a surprise that is beauty what inspires her!
I also asked her what art means for her and what's her relationship with it and, I have to say that I really liked her answer: "I think, art... it's what make our world better, more interesting! Anyway my life for sure. So art in my life is important. I would like to believethat I will be part of it, someday".

As all young artists, she has a strong relationship with new media. She promotes her works trough internet channels, trough social networks and blogs.
Serious artist with a well defined personality, she recognizes in the motto Work hard and be nice to people, it's a "simple phrase, but amazing well reflects the conclusions which I have come in my life". And to young artists that want to be illustrators, she suggests to "criticize yourself, and don't give up! It's banal but true". And how to give her wrong?
Taking a look to her works, it's hard to believe she's not a professionist, but I'm sure that her talent will help her to get ahead and I wish that her works could be noticed by the right people. Talent like that, there' not there by chance, so it's important found and give them prominence. And I hope, in my small way, to have contributed to turn on a litght on this young talented artists.

Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's challenging to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a superb job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super fast for me on Chrome. Excellent Blog!
