Hi guys, happy 2014 to all of you. After a little break for Christmas holydays, we can restart with another appointment with Music & Fashion. Protagonist of this month the beautiful and talented Beyoncé Knowles: successful singer, actress, director, wife, mother, model and business woman, recently elected one of 100 most powerfull women in the world by the the New York Times. A rising star that, after almost 20 years illuminates the international music scene. 

She discovers her passion for singing when she's still a kid, enjoying some local talent shows and performing in the choirs of Parker Elementary School in Houston and St. John's United Methodist Church as lead singer, where she remains few time. She lands in pop and R&B scenes in 1993 as leader of the girl band Destiny's Child with the old friend Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Robertson and LeToya Luckett. They sign a contract with Columbia Records in 1997 and, the next year, release their first omonymous album. In 1999 is released The writing's on the wall from which they extract songs like Bills, bills, bills and Say my name that give to the band an international success and a Grammy Award in 2001. But with success came problem and the group change members two times, until the current formation. The third album Survivor gets a big success, debuting at first position of Billboard 200. The girls decide to take a break anyway and focus on their solo projects. This is the moment when it starts her climb to the top.

As solo singer she releases 5 successful album that give her fame and several awards. Her first work is dated 2002 when she records Work it out for Austin Power: the Goldmember in which she starred next to Mike Meyers as Foxxy Cleopatra. In the same year she duets with her boyfriend Jay-Z in 03 Bonnie and Clyde and Crazy in Love, single estracted from Dangerously in Love. With this album Beyoncé wins 5 Grammy Awards and a BRIT Awards as solo female international artist. 

In 2004 she reunits with her friends and colleagues Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams releasing Destiny Fulfilled, the goodbye album of the band that announces its slip after 13 years. But this is the time of Dreamgirls, the remake of the Broadway show about the story of The Supremes, in which she plays Deena Jones, inspired by Dianna Ross. For the movie she records Listen for which she is nominated for 2 Golden Globe: best actress and best original song. 

2008 is the year of I Am... Sasha Fierce, maybe her most successful album, that make her get several awards consecrating her in the Olympus of international music. In the same period she starred Cadillac Records in which she plays the role of Etta James. In 2011 is released 4, her last recording effort from which she extracts Run The World (Girls) and Best Thing I Never Had, while in 2013 she releases, unexpectedly and without kind of promotion, Beyoncé, a visual album that contains 14 unpubblished songs recorded during the Mrs. Carter Show world tour.

With a curvy body and a fascinating look, she represents the definition of a new type of beauty. Her style, surely more sophisticated and refined compared to past, is the one of sexy but mature woman who knows how valorise her femininity without (amost) never overdo. She prefers ladylike dresses that emphasize her silhouette, enriched by big accessories and very high heels. Here a shor slideshow of her looks.

Parallel to a shining musical carreer she develops a modeling, giving her face to several adv campaigns, and a designer ones. In 2005 she launches her clothing line House of Deréon. With rapper Jay-Z, married in 2008, she's one of the most popular and glamorous couple of the last times and parent of the little Blue Ivy, born in 2012.
